Chitwan district takes its name from the Chitwan Valley, one of Nepal's Inner Terai valleys between the Mahabharat and Siwalik ranges, both considered foothills of the Himalayas. Chitwan is an Inner Terai valley in the south of Nepal, encompassing the districts of Makwanpur, Chitwan and Nawalparasi. The valley is part of the Terai-Duar savanna and grasslands ecoregion of about 150 km (93 mi) length and 30–48 km (19–30 mi) width. Major cities are Hetauda and Ratnanagar in the easternmost part of the valley, Narayanghar and Bharatpur in its central part.
Chitwan National Park is the most popular tourist destination in the Chitwan Valley. The main tourist quarters and entrance to the park is Sauraha, located in the Mrigakunja buffer zone. Tourism provides a steady source of income for the people of the area and plays a vital role in involving local communities in the sustainable conservation of the protected area and its biodiversity.
You can also spend some calming animal time visiting the elephant and gharial breeding farms, a perfect way to educate your kids about the animals and their life cycle. You can visit the Tharu village, where you are welcomed into their traditional mud houses and treated with utmost care and respect. Day 1 : After breakfast, sightseeing in the valley. Enjoy some dance in the evening.
Day 2 : After lunch, transfer to Chitwan via road. Check into lodge/resort/camp . Jungle activities after lunch.
Day 3 : Full day jungle activities
After breakfast , either departure via road/transfer to bharatpur airport and fly to Kathmandu.
